Mission & vision

From inspiration
to execution.

Mission

For Girls Who Build is a community-driven organization dedicated to empowering girls and women in technology by creating opportunities to learn, collaborate, and build real-world outputs that showcase their skills, creativity, and leadership. We aim to bridge the gap between inspiration and execution by encouraging women to move beyond learning and into creating impactful projects, initiatives, and solutions.

Vision

To become a leading movement that nurtures the next generation of women builders, innovators, founders, engineers, creatives, and tech leaders across the Philippines and beyond. We envision a future where girls are not only welcomed in tech spaces — but are confidently building products, leading teams, launching ideas, and shaping industries.

Our Objective

To create a community across the Philippines where girls and women are empowered to transform ideas into real-world outputs through collaboration, hands-on learning, and opportunities that develop both technical skills and confidence.

Our focus areas

What we
build around.

Six pillars that shape our workshops, challenges, and partnerships.

01Project-Based Learning
Promoting hands-on creation through hackathons, workshops, portfolio-building, and collaborative outputs.
02Women Empowerment in Technology
Encouraging more girls and women to pursue careers and leadership roles in tech-related fields.
03Accessibility & Inclusivity
Making opportunities in tech more approachable and accessible for beginners, students, and aspiring builders.
04Confidence Building
Turning "I think I can" into "I built this" through hands-on wins and peer support.
05Career Development
Providing pathways toward internships, mentorships, networking opportunities, and industry exposure.
06Community Building
Building a supportive community across the Philippines where women grow together through mentorship and peer learning.

Why Us? / The name represents action.

Building is a form
of empowerment.

"For Girls Who Build" is for every girl who wants to create something meaningful — whether that means building apps, communities, startups, designs, research, content, systems, ideas, or impact. It represents women who are willing to learn, experiment, collaborate, and turn ideas into reality. This organization believes that building is one of the strongest forms of empowerment.

What Makes Us Different?

The gap

Talent is here.
Opportunity should be, too.

Lack of Practical Experience
Theory without the chance to apply it.
Fear of Starting
The first step is often the hardest one.
Limited Support Systems
Building alone is harder than it needs to be.
Representation Gap
Too few women visibly leading in tech.
Skill Visibility Without Action
Talent that never gets the chance to ship.

Luzon. Visayas.

Our ambition is to grow connections across all three island groups — creating more opportunities to learn by building, wherever the next builder calls home.

Built here.
Open to the world.

We're open to international connections and future expansion, sharing ideas with communities beyond the Philippines as we grow.
